the good thing about south central is that there hasn’t been any shootings. Now people can walk in the streets with out being afraid to get shot or beat up.The thing that we need to improve here in south central are the gangs the trash and the graffiti.I’m not guna say i don’t like living here in south central its just there there are too many negative things here and can mess a kid up bad.I dont like most of the schools here because most are to big and i think its better if there small like the one im in right now(:. there are three important events that have had the greatest impact on making south central, LA what it is today are crack epidemic, gang history ,and watts riots.
the first event that made south central what is is today is the crack epidemic. this is important because this was what made south central what it is today. there are some things i know about the event like how the CIA started selling it in the streets of south central by giving it to people that need to support there family’s. they one that started selling cheep crack was freeway ricky ross! they call him freeway ricky because he grew up and lived by the freeway.before that ricky would play tennis in his school team, when he seen that he couldn’t make money or a living off of that he started selling crack to the bums and other buyers. The reason i chose this one what because today you still see people buying drugs. today you still see people getting killed for drugs, people dieing from using drugs. even today you see little kids selling and doing drugs!
the second event that made south central the way it is today is the gang history. This is important because the gangs got started so they could protect there people from the whites. there was a gang of white kids that here called the spook hunters they called them self’s that because they would beat the blacks.after a while then the blacks where tiered of all way’s being beat so they started a crew. where ever the nave of your street was that was the name of your crew. they only one i can remember is the slauson. After that then the black panther party and the brown berets where formed and they where formed to stop the government from doing anything. i chose this one because it stood out to me like it answered many of the questions i had!
the third event that i liked was the watts riots. the reason i like this one the most is because i always wanted to know the history behind watts and why people think its a bad place.this is important because now i know what they government was doing to the blacks & latinos. Now i know that they did all of this because they wanted to have the same rights as the whites and others!. they did what they had to do because they wanted some thing better they didnt want to see people beeing beat on the streets for no reason and i think that they did a good thing!
I think that the three events i talked about there good because they have a lot to do with that goes on every day.i think south central will start to riot again because the government is doing what it did before and the police is always abusing there authority.i think that south central will change for the worst because there are to many gangs and to much violence.
